Dr. Seán Crosson is the Programme Director of the MA/Postgraduate Diploma in Film Studies at the Huston School of Film & Digital Media. He contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the Huston School.

Research interests
Dr. Crosson's research interests include Irish film, film and sport, and the relationship between music and poetry. His current research project examines the representation of sport in film, the subject of a conference and several symposia held in the Huston School over the past two years, and of his forthcoming monograph to be published by Routledge in 2011.

Dr. Crosson has contributed to various arts, culture and current affairs programmes on national and international media outlets including the television stations ITV, Setanta Sports, and TG4 and the radio channels RTÉ radio 1, Newstalk, WUWM (Milwaukee Public Radio), Raidió na Gaeltachta and Raidió na Life. He has also contributed to a number of documentary programmes and series including:
- (Forthcoming) A Boatload of Wild Irishmen (Dir: Mac Dara Ó Curraidhín), documentary on film director Robert Flaherty, to be broadcast on TG4 in late 2010. Premièred as An tÉireannach Fáin (The Wandering Irishman) at the Galway Film Fleadh 2010.
- ‘GAA@125 Bliain', 10-part documentary series on the Gaelic Athletic Association broadcast on TG4 January-March 2009 and November-January 2009/2010.
Positions
Vice-President of the European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies (EFACIS). As well as being involved in preparations for the Federation's 2011 conference, to be held in Salford, England, Dr. Crosson is currently assisting in the development of links between those involved in Irish Studies across Europe, particularly with regard to study abroad programmes, joint research projects and the acquisition of funding.
